Top Advice for YouTube Creators from the Community
YouTube can feel like an overwhelming space, especially as a new content creator. There’s noise about algorithms, trends, and all those “must-do” practices. To cut through the clutter, we asked the TubeBuddy community on Twitter: “What’s the best piece of advice for starting a YouTube channel you’ve received as a creator?”
The tips poured in. Here’s some of the standout wisdom from fellow YouTubers:
Find Your Niche
Focus in on one topic or genre.

I used to do a lot of very things on the channel. Now I've focused a lot more. Still working on building an audience that responds to comments and questions.
Specializing in a particular topic makes it easier for viewers to find you and know what to expect from your channel. This helps build a loyal audience interested in your chosen corner of YouTube. You need a niche.
Don’t Chase Trends
i am not sure. but the worst advice i ever received was post trending topics. not only does that not trick the algorithm anymore, but it also guarantees that you will blend in with the crowd

While tempting, constantly hopping on content trends — whether on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or anywhere else — is a quick way to get lost in the sea of similar content. Instead, focusing on your own creative strengths will ultimately yield stronger, more unique videos.
Embrace What You Enjoy
Do what you enjoy, and you'll enjoy what you do. Don't let other people dictate what kind of videos you make or how to do them.

Passion shines through! Don’t feel pressured into making content that doesn’t spark your interest. Your audience will recognize and connect with your genuine enthusiasm for your subject matter.
Just Get Started
Got so many good advice since starting, but I have to limit it to these:
— Deosil25 (@Deosil_25) February 12, 2024
– Just start!
– Make a 100 bad Videos – MrBeast.
– Improve something with every Video.
That first step is always the hardest. Don’t get bogged down by perfectionism. Jump in, create, and learn as you go. Constant small improvements add up over time.
Create Videos You’d Watch
Make for me AND them.
